The Islanders

is a group of four talented young musicians from Finland, where every member has his own history in the field of music.
They have studied hard to be professionals on stage and in the studios.
Each of them has performed on stage with several different bands and groups together with the best known Finnish artists.

The original Islanders was founden 1963, but in the course of time, a new generation of great musicians have taken over,
The members of today´s Islanders got together through the Danny-show and they have been doing concerts, shows, tv-programs and recordings for last six years.

The Islanders can play both with and without a score.
This means that when they are performing their normal repertoire the team doesn´t need scores. This makes the performance more professional.

The Islanders are able to play many different kinds of music.
Together with the vocal-group D ´Voices alone they have practised almost 500 songs from different musical categories.
The music can be performed in different languages,
such as Swedish, German, Finnish, French, Spanish and English.
The team is getting better day by day.

The Islanders today:

Jussi Turpeinen - gtr
Antti Huilaja - pno, hammond, back voc
Antti Tauriainen - bass
Pontus Söderlund - drums
