Artistic innovator, visionary

* The first Danny show 1966, the Timantinkova Danny show

* A total of 40 different shows

* Altogether more than 4.9 million viewers

* Stages: dancehalls, cruise ships, concert halls, restaurants, rock clubs, night clubs, companies, festivals, events…

* Several Danny show TV-recordings

The show concept that Danny offered the young was at the time something completely new in Finland. It brought together what the pioneers of Finnish music culture had to offer, foreign influences and contemporary phenomena with its social trends. It also offered young people a theatre-like journey into the fascinating world of music at a time when pop music was rarely played on the radio and TV had just taken its first steps.
The show combined in an impressive way the skills of professionals from different fields, with systematic planning, intuitive visioning and new technologies, such as the laser beam.
The Danny show was a format long before the era of formats and it can be considered a significant social innovation which has served - and still serves - as an inspiring example for several Finnish artists.

The development of the Danny show was strongly influenced by a university professor from Jyväskylä, Carl Hagfors. He was the first in the world to develop mass registration equipment that was used to research the Danny show and also the Kirka Show, produced by Danny. Hagfors transformed the immaterial into a measurable form. These studies became an irreplaceable tool for Danny, who used them to develop his own career and his show events.

Danny brought to the world of Finnish entertainment a way of business thinking, marketing and planning, that at that time was unheard of. He trained himself and was happy to share the knowledge he had gained with others. An especially significant activity has been his work in training entertainment artists in business and marketing skills, and this way providing security for their daily income.

Danny is a long-time student of the ‘Jaakko Salo Academy’, and has himself taken his turn to guide aspiring performance artists as well as those who have already started their career. In addition to his professional knowledge, he has given new talents possibilities to practice and work with his many productions. There are many institutions that approach entertainment art from a purely theoretical point of view, but the only way to develop as an artist is to encounter the audience in actual practice. In Danny’s productions the performers learn by experiencing the feeling of success on stage, in front of the audience, and from that point on it is easier to continue building the career.

As a result of the Show Must Go On –training, there are several artists who have succeeded in different song contests, such as: Tangomarkkinat (Susanna Heikki, Katja Ängeslevä, Mira Sunnari, Johanna Pakonen), Suomen Tähti (Katariina Toropainen, Marco Äijälä), Suomen Trubaduuri-mestaruuskilpailut (Marco Äijälä), Suomen iskelmämestaruuskilpailut (Mira Sunnari ja Johanna Pakonen), Toivo Kärki-iskelmäkilpailu (Virpi Piippo) etc.

Danny has done a lot of wide-ranging and long-term work in supervising the rights of entertainment professionals, through working with organisations in the field of entertainment, often in leading positions.
